I CAN have control over my stress eating.

I attempted the Whole30 twice so far and didn’t complete the program, but this September I made it all the way through Reintroduction with the support of a great Whole30 Certified Coach!

I was in a pretty bad car accident in June, and I have been dealing with a severe back injury since then. I wasn’t able to work out and was on modified duty at my job as a teacher. Since starting the Whole30, the healing process sped up SO much! I noticed a difference on day 7. After 30 days, my back and neck are almost completely healed. I am working out again (that photo is of me on a hike around Day 15!), my back is not spasming anymore, I am almost back to normal work, I am sleeping better, and I am off my muscle relaxers. On top of all that, my skin is clear, my energy is high, and my mood has greatly improved.

This round I was in the middle of a very stressful period (school, working two jobs, healing from my accident, huge change at work, and family issues), and I learned that I CAN have control over my stress eating. That has been the biggest takeaway for me. I don’t need to snack mindlessly when I am stressed, something I have always told myself I “don’t have control over.” In fact, fueling my body correctly during this time has made all of those things significantly LESS stressful. Thank you to the entire Whole30 team. I am feeling more like myself than I have all year and I am excited to start my Food Freedom journey.
