I am achieving my goals of being healthy and happy.

From 2017 to 2019, I gained a lot of body fat and lost a lot of self-confidence. My blood pressure, resting heart rate, and cholesterol levels were high and exercise on its own wasn’t nearly enough to combat these issues. My diet was mostly quesadillas and mac and cheese.

In the spring of 2019, I was in a minor car accident which gave me a concussion and whiplash. This took a major toll on my mental and physical health; I couldn’t exercise because every movement brought me more pain, but I felt awful staying in bed all day. This is when I decided that I needed to make a positive change in my life. I started focusing on eating more fruits and vegetables and I worked on rehab exercises so that I could start exercising regularly again.

I moved back in with my parents after graduating from college that spring, and some of those healthy habits slipped as I tried to find my new routine at home. I started exercising with a personal trainer and that’s where I saw Coach Kristi’s business card for Whole30 Coaching. After one conversation with Kristi, I knew that the Whole30 was exactly what I needed. I wanted to change my relationship with food and build healthier habits.

Working with a coach was very helpful! Kristi was quick to help me figure out how to effectively do my grocery shopping without breaking the bank. Most importantly though, she checked in constantly to see if I needed help with anything. Whether I needed words of encouragement or another set of eyes to look at a salad dressing label, I knew that Kristi was there for me. I loved having accountability and support with my coach and our Whole30 group.

After 30 days, I gained such a strong sense of pride. I am so proud of myself for showing self-discipline, building healthy habits, and staying committed to this journey to learn more about myself.

Some days were tougher than others, but the NSVs were amazing! My sleep improved exponentially. My skin cleared up. I became physically stronger. I learned how to cook lots of fun meals!

I’ve learned so much about myself because of Whole30 and I am so grateful for this experience. My greatest victory is that I feel that I am a healthy person. I’ve become more mindful and feel confident with where I’m at now. Every day that I choose to participate in any of the healthy habits I learned from my Whole 30, I am achieving my goals of being healthy and happy.
