“I am the boss of me: Nancy C.’s Story”

Laguna Woods, CA

I decided to do Whole30 to see if food was causing my knee pain. It was not, but that is okay. I found out so much more about me and my relationship with food and alcohol.

This was my first Whole30, and it was pretty painless. I did the reintroduction as prescribed, except for added sugar and alcohol. I have not reintroduced those yet. That is big for me. I was very used to having a cocktail in the evening, just because I could. It was part of my routine! Sugar, was always just available. I have not had alcohol in over 50 days. I’m sure I will at some point, and that is okay.

I’ve likely had a little sugar here and there, but am not “looking for it” as a food item to consume. I have changed my routine, and I’m waiting until it is “worth it” for the alcohol. Yes, Food Freedom Forever has been very instrumental in my shift in focus.

I lost a few pounds during Whole30, but that was not my goal. My goal is to be a runner again… not a great runner, just a runner! I have been focusing on lifting heavier weights, since as a women in my sixties, that is essential as I plan to live for many more decades. My workouts while on Whole30 were great—I love that feeling!
