I’m a psychotherapist in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I sit a lot during my day and started to have hip pain. I first tried Whole30 in 2016, hoping to address this pain. Since then I’ve completed a few more, most recently this January. I can’t remember how I first heard about the Whole30, but it was probably while researching inflammation. I also have a history of depression, anxiety, IBS, and trouble sleeping. Besides my hip pain, I wanted my digestion and sleep to improve.
The Whole30 has changed my relationship with food. I truly have found food freedom with the Whole30. I’ve learned to listen to my body and notice how I feel in relation to what I’m eating. When I first started I was afraid I’d fail, but that never happened. I kept going. After my first round, my doctor was amazed at my weight loss and changes in my A1c and cholesterol panel. I knew I was headed in the right direction. My sleep is great now, too! I went from waking 4 times in the middle of the night to waking up once or not at all. My mood and digestion have improved and I have energy for my days. Oh and my hip pain is gone! People are always commenting on my skin, too. My favorite part about the Whole30 is eating lots of delicious food that I make. I get to be creative in the kitchen and feel good about my creations. I’m always recommending the Whole30 to my clients and friends.
