Christine’s Highlights
Want a preview into Christine’s favorite Whole30 meals in KC? Here’s her six favorite dishes.
The Russell | 3141 Main St.
Order the Sumac Tenderloin, hold the goat cheese and chimichurri dressing. Ask for Olive Oil and Vinegar instead.
Brown & Loe | 429 Walnut St.
Order the Spaghetti Squash, hold the Boursin cheese and add steak.
Blue Bird Bistro | 1700 Summit St.
Order the Loose Burger, hold the Havarti cheese, hold the bun, and order with a side of house potatoes or sauteed veggies.
The Corner Restaurant | 4059 Broadway Blvd.
Order The Hashes (With Chorizo) hold the caramelized onions (ask for raw onions if you wish). Hold the hollandaise sauce, and request they cook your hash without oil (they use vegetable oil).
Garozzo’s Ristorante | 526 Harrison St.
Order Mike’s Diet Chicken, no modifications required. It might feel like a bummer to order a dish called “diet chicken,” but this is a quite delicious dish. It’s prepared with fresh herbs and tomatoes, and topped with shrimp! It’s bursting with flavor and hits the spot when you’re in the mood for Italian.
Zöe’s Kitchen | 100 Ward Parkway
As a Whole30 Approved partner, Zöe’s Kitchen has an entire Whole30 Approved menu on offer. Ask for it at the register to see your options. I like the Salmon Kabob, with a side of Israeli skhug sauce, fresh fruit and grilled potato salad.
Christine is a foodie at heart, happiest in the kitchen cooking up new recipes. Her love for Whole30 began when she found relief from her lifelong eczema and gastrointestinal issues during her first round of the program. Since then, she has immersed herself in the Whole30 community and loves connecting with others. When she’s not in the kitchen, you can find Christine at her local farmer’s market or at the dog park with her two fur-babies and hubby. Connect with Christine on her website, christinescleaneats.com. “My goal is to empower you in your own unique journey to health. Whole30 has truly taught me the healing power of food, and I hope to share that with you. Give me thirty days and I promise you’ll leave with a new appreciation of how transformative food can be to your physical and mental health.” Header photo by Colton Sturgeon
