I’m no stranger to trying trying new ways of eating in an effort to be healthy, so I finally decided to give the Whole30 a try after a friend told me that it might really help with my hormones and the digestive issues I had been suffering with for a long time. I first heard about the Whole30 a few years ago, but I honestly didn’t think I could ever get away from sugar and sweet treats for that long of a time. After talking with my friend, I started researching the diet and looking up all I could about it. I bought several Whole30 books and recipe books.

I was so excited to start my Whole30 in January that I actually did a “trial run” in December because I just couldn’t wait to get started! I felt like I could really succeed with this way of eating. I signed up with a Whole30 Certified Coach, started listening to Melissa’s podcast, and starting following any Whole30 Instagram account I came across. Within the first week of my Whole30, I started noticing changes. My stomach wasn’t as bloated and I noticed I wasn’t as hungry between meals. After the 30 days, my clothes fit so much better, my bloat and digestive issues had disappeared, my skin had cleared up, I had more energy, and I was sleeping amazingly! I’ve also lost weight since December. More importantly though, I feel SO GOOD!

I never felt hungry or deprived on the Whole30. I always felt satisfied and truly enjoyed every meal. I love cooking and trying new foods, so this probably was in my favor. Someone who has tried A LOT of different diets, this one has been the easiest for me. I struggled with emotional eating and had so many bad habits to break. I reached for sugary treats no matter what time of day it was. The first week was difficult for me (the sugar dragon was really messing with me!), but I knew it was going to be hard. I craved sweets almost the whole 30 days, but it finally subsided. I just kept telling myself I wasn’t going to give up or give in.

I am never going back to the way I ate before. I feel too good! Plus, I deserve to take care of my body. I deserve to fuel it with food that’s good for me. I decided to believe in myself & not give up. I put myself first and took care of myself for those 30+ days. The Whole30 really has changed my life and I’m SO thankful I did it! I feel like so many aspects of my life have changed, not just my food choices, and I couldn’t be happier. I look at food differently now. Thank you!
