‘Tis the season for looking back, reflecting, and taking stock of all that happened in 2024. After much thought, all we can say about the last 12 months is… Wow, this year was a lot. 

A lot of newness—a book, a website, and more sources of support while you’re doing the program. A lot of delicious new recipes. A lot of adventure. A lot of new friends welcomed into the Whole30 community. A lot of lives changed for the better. 

It was too much to stuff into your standard, end-of-the-year top 10 list. No, we had to go bigger—all the way up to 24 picks for the biggest news and most engaging content of the year.

Without further ado, the best of Whole30 2024

24. Seasonal vegetable guides help you fill your plate with goodness all year.

The end of 2024 brought two new articles to help you enjoy the best cold-weather produce. Check out this fall produce shopping list and our winter season vegetables guide.

23. Welcome to “Cheese” Week.

It’s not the most Whole30 sentence, but we did have fun with “cheesy” recipes and cheesier puns back in January.

Once the weather turned cold, this list of compatible casserole recipes was the fleece blanket we handed over to keep you warm.

21. An insightful clarification straight from Melissa.

Thanks to Rhyan Geiger we all know at least 33 plants that contain iron now.

10 & 9. Introducing Whole30 marinated chicken & going on a Costco Road Show.

For those in the southeastern and Texas regions, Whole30 came to your local Costco in the form of delicious, marinated and grilled chicken breasts. To launch this new way to eat Whole30, MU and a few lucky staff members did a road show in select Georgia Costco stores.

7. Oh yeah! We launched a brand new Whole30.com in April.

The beautiful redesign and rebrand felt so much like home,we almost forgot it hasn’t always looked like this or worked so well. Any other year, this beautiful new digital space tops the list. But there was this other extremely huge thing that launched and literally ushered in a new era of Whole30. Well, that might come up a time or six over the rest of the list.

Melissa Urban’s latest best-seller came fully stocked with over 100 new favorites for all Whole30ers. And you got to pull the curtain back to see how it all came together.

5. A new tone makes the Whole30 more approachable and inclusive.

4. Plant-Based Whole30 makes its print debut in the latest Whole30 book.

Plant-forward eating stepped into the best-selling spotlight along with our Original program in 2024. The New Whole30 has plenty of information for plant-based eaters, and MU went even deeper in this article.

3. A guide to The New Whole30 by Melissa Urban.

Nobody can write about what’s in The New Whole30 better than MU, so enjoy your guided exploration of her latest best-seller.

2. MU makes an appearance at a bookstore near you.

The Whole30 hit the road, with Melissa Urban criss-crossing the country on her version of the Eras Tour. So many Whole30ers showed up and Melissa was so happy to see you. But if you missed out or want to refresh your memory, there are fun IG reels from each city and a tour wrap-up video on YouTube to put you back on the road with MU.

Publishing a New York Times best-seller is pretty hard to top, so we had to put it at No. 1. But this isn’t just a bestselling book. The New Whole30 ushers in a new era of the program. One that embraces change, flexibility, inclusivity, and approachability. One with equal space for the Plant-Based Whole30. One that will help even more people create healthy habits, change their relationships with food, and live joyful lives full of health and food freedom.
