I’m able to educate my patients and their families about healthy lifestyle habits, and teach them ways to enjoy their cultural dishes, and still feel great.

In June 2020, I was under a lot of stress. The world was locked down due to the pandemic, and as a physician, my clinic was hectic with overworked frontline workers and worried parents. I was stress eating, sleeping terribly, and my acne returned with vengeance. The Whole30 was an opportunity for me to gain some control, at a time when I felt out of control. After my Whole30, my energy levels increased, I slept better, and my acne calmed down. I loved that I could still enjoy some of my favorite Nigerian dishes. My friends and I now share our journey through Black Girls Who Whole30, and I’m able to educate my patients and their families about healthy lifestyle habits, and teach them ways to enjoy their cultural dishes, and still feel great.
